The storm is over!

Mental portraits from my childhood reminds me how pleasant it is to walk in the country side, after a storm has spent itself; to smell the freshness of the earth after the rain has passed away, and to note the drops on the rain washed vegetation while they glisten like purest diamonds in the sunlight. This to my mind should be the spiritual picture of a believer’s life on earth. We are going through a land where the storm has spent itself upon our Saviour's head, and if there be a few drops of challenges falling, they are filtered through clouds of mercy, and Jesus cheers us by the assurance that these are not for our destruction. We are rather refined, defined and distinguished by the challenges God allows in our lives.
Non-believers like slaves walk through life with a terrible apprehension and fear of the unknown. We all know how terrifying it could be to travel alone through unfamiliar grounds, especially one of which so many frightening tales had been told. Today our world is awash with countless tales of horrific and horrifying news of man’s inhumanity to man, and stories of one form of natural disaster or the other. Someone had remarked that we are the most informed generation that had ever lived on planet earth. We are bombarded, daily with all kinds of media ranging from the radio to the internet, which has actually reduced our world to a global village. So much of the news that spew from these media every second, every minute and every hour serves to increase the level of apprehension and fear of citizens of  our dear earth. The sights and sounds of our world are indeed creating fear in the minds of men. Therefore, it will not be farfetched to conclude that fear has become the most dominant of all the emotional energies with which our generation thrives.
In contrast to the prevailing circumstances of fear, despair and hopelessness, the Father had made Love provisions in Jesus that will enable us to live a life of freedom and liberty as sons of the highest. This life is not only possible, it is also sustainable. This life is in Jesus the son of the living God. It is available only to those who will trust in Him and go on to walk in His ways. This post is an attempt to point us in the direction of this awesome Life of liberty that can only be experienced by those who have known the Father’s love. Knowing the Father’s love is to love as He loves, to see through His eyes and to speak as He speaks.  Oh! That I may know true love, deeper than anything found on earth: that I may smell the fragrance of Your touch, and go on to enjoy Your warm embrace! Father, may you grant this experience to all who seek you! In Jesus name. Amen.
What marvellous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it — we're called children of God! That's who we really are. But that’s also why the world doesn’t recognize us or takes us seriously, because it has no idea who he is or what he's up to.
But friends, that's exactly who we are: children of God. And that's only the beginning. Who knows how we'll end up! What we know is that when Christ is openly revealed, we'll see him — and in seeing him, become like him.  All of us who look forward to his Coming stay ready, with the glistening purity of Jesus' life as a model for our own”.

  1. It's interesting to know that the creator of the universe wants to come in and sup with us!
